Mold can develop when two important factors come together. One of them is moisture. The walls are cold and moisture precipitates from the warm air in the room. The second factor is lack of ventilation. With ventilation, air circulates (moves) through the room. This allows the bricks to dry naturally and the moisture in the air does not precipitate in one place.

If you are living in a house with constant mold on the walls, consider insulation. A thick layer of polystyrene insulation will eliminate drafty walls and solve the mold problem. If the walls are not cooled by the outside environment (a result of well-functioning weatherstripping), they will retain more of the heat that is naturally stored from the inside and moisture will not precipitate into the walls. Insulating the outside of the house is probably the most effective way to prevent mold.

If not insulating, then ventilation is necessary. Ventilation allows indoor moisture to escape from the house and at the same time promotes air circulation. For ventilation, modern windows have so-called micro-positions. This creates only a minimal gap between the window and the window frame. This is sufficient to allow air to circulate. However, this gap is so small that heat does not escape from the room unnecessarily.

It can also chemically fight mold. There are a variety of dehumidifiers available. These are chemicals that bind moisture from the air to themselves and deposit it. As a result, ordinary water flows from the carrier of this chemical into a puddle, which sometimes spills over.

When mold forms, it must be removed. Several special products are available that kill mold. Spray this product on the moldy area and you will see the dark color of the mold quickly change to the original color of the wall paint.Unfortunately, mold can grow into the plaster over time, making it difficult to remove. Failure to combat surface mold will leave one no choice but to remove the infected plaster later and re-stucco the room. This is a painstaking and costly process. However, it can be prevented through ongoing prevention.

Do not neglect the fight against mold. In time, mold will prevail against you!
